Zenith Energy, a growing independent Well Management company based in Aberdeen, require an HSE Manager to support UK and international drilling operations and ongoing development of the company.
The HSE Manager will fully integrate with Zenith operations and engineering personnel and work hand-in-hand with them to deliver operational excellence.
At project level, the HSE Manager will interface with government and statutory bodies in the country of operation, identify the necessary consents and permissions and develop high quality submissions and supporting documents, with input from subject matter experts where required.
Together with Zenith Management, the HSE Manager will attend meetings with the statutory bodies to establish and maintain professional and productive working relationships at the project planning stage and throughout operations.
The HSE Manager will also manage operational HSE Advisors who are assigned to remote locations and offshore rigs.
Together with Zenith Management, the HSE Manger will identify objectives and tasks to develop and manage operating culture at the rigsite, and implement these on an ongoing basis.
Zenith Energy has a policy of continuous improvement, and the HSE Manager will develop and improve Zenith’s management systems and site management practices in line with his policy.
Candidate
Proven track record in industrial HSE management
Previous exposure to the offshore drilling industry
Professional HSE qualification
Experience of interfacing with government and statutory bodies
Demonstrably competent to develop consent and permissions documents and management system interface documents to a high quality, with minimum supervision
Core knowledge of health, safety and environmental issues applicable to offshore operations
Knowledge and experience of applicable UK and international legislation and HSE practices.
Trained in incident investigation, and demonstrable experience of practical application
Familiarity with offshore and onshore emergency response and medevac
Experience as a line manager on an offshore rig, platform or vessel is preferable but not a necessity
Marine and/or aviation subject matter knowledge is preferable but not a necessity
Strong people skills – able to build rapport and communicate well with people from different nationalities, and with personnel at the rigsite
Strong ability to conceptualise, diagnose and conclude.
